The Church names seven gifts of the Holy Spirit:

  1. Wisdom
  2. Understanding
  3. Counsel
  4. Fortitude
  5. Knowledge
  6. Piety
  7. Fear of the Lord

These gifts are not a list to memorize and set aside. They are the Spirit's own help for a Christian life — prayed for especially in Confirmation, and needed in ordinary days.

St. Mary's Religious Education page lists these gifts as part of formation. Speak with Marty Dursse if you are preparing for Confirmation, or if you simply wish to understand them more deeply.
