St. Mary, Star of the Sea

St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church, with St. Francis de Sales Mission in Hammond, publishes this mission:

> Our Mission is to build a Roman Catholic faith community. As a sacramental people, we foster the spiritual growth and attend to the social needs of all through prayer, liturgy, education, and service.

The first church in Astoria was blessed and dedicated on Sunday, October 11, 1874. The parish marked 150 years in Astoria on October 10, 2025, with Archbishop Alexander K. Sample.

Pastor: Fr. William D. Oruko, AJ

Religious Education is one way that mission takes flesh — for children, youth, and adults, including those who are only beginning to ask.
